Great lesson TS!
🙏🙏🙏
IMPACTFUL lesson!!! Thank you
Thank you! Appreciate the comment and feedback!
It BURNS!
👊👊👊
T, this video is top notch. Talk about a light bulb moment. Drilling for 30 minutes and I hit the mother lode. My balance and ball striking improved like makeup on a swine. Thanks buddy, you work hard and give all us amateurs a vision of improvement. Keep up the great tips and total instruction. I know I speak for everyone clicking in...
That’s awesome! Extremely happy to hear this helped as much as it did!! Thanks for sharing and please let me know if you ever need anything!
Great video! Would you calculate the same downwind? So if 10 mile an hour wind then take off 10 percent of total distance?
I would subtract 1/2% for every mph of wind there is down (ex. 10mph downswing subtract 5%). Thanks for the comment and I hope this helps!

Good shot Trevor!!!
🙏🙏🙏
Great video! I'm guilty of the "up/down one club" due to wind, slope, etc. I'm also very confused why I'll fly over a green into the wind, or leave a ball short with wind at my back. Definitely haven't been putting proper thought into yardages with a given wind/slope
Thanks for sharing and I hope this helps you out! If you need anything or have any questions, please do let me know! 👊👊👊
Im RH and have a pretty strong grip and try and hold my wrist angles. My swing path is always from the inside but I struggle to close the face. My miss is always a block right. Do you think a neutral grip will help? Or do I need to focus on holding my wrist angle more in my backswing?
To me making the grip weaker as RH player and you are already missing it right doesn’t make a lot of sense to me honestly. If I were to guess I’d say the upper body is getting in front of the lower body in downswing which could cause the left shoulder to pull up and in internally causing the ball to do what it’s doing. I’d truthfully need to see what your motion looks like and also understand the details of what contact is doing on the face and through the turf. Happy to jump on a consultation call with you! That’s be my best way of helping! calendly.com/trevorsalzmangolf/free-15-minute-consultation Thanks, TS
what an effortless golf swing
That it is!!! Thanks for the comment!
Great explanation! I never understood how instructors expect people to jam that right elbow out in front and then supinate the left wrist like crazy to square the face....now that I see your explanation I will just not watch those videos anymore. haha Thanks!
Thank you for the comment! I’m not saying that this style doesn’t work but I don’t think it’s the easiest to teach to players. Just my two cents. Hopefully this helps and thanks so much for sharing! 🙏🙏
My teacher just went over this with me today. It prompted me to find something on RUclips about it and I found this video. I swing too far in to out and he said it was a vision and head tilt thing. It was a great lesson and changed things quickly. I don’t know why this isn’t talked about more. Thanks for the video.
It’s a very big piece of the golf swing the placement of the eyes and also the direction that they move! Big Mac O’Grady piece from back in the day! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you. It’s physics 👏
Thank you much and I hope this helps! 👊👊
Great review of shallowing ... it really has made me realize I need to get with someone in person to make sure I m shallowing based on my own backswing and physical attributes ... Why try to shallow like Sean O'Hare or Payne Scott if you are built like Hal Sutton or JB Holmes ... doesnt make sense ...
Couldn’t agree more! Thanks so much for this and I appreciate the comment, feedback and support here! 🙏🙏🙏
Honestly seems like a lot of timing, isn’t there an easier, rotational way, to be more consistent?
So what I am trying to say with this video is that manually shallowing the club ISN’T easy. Using the pressure shift and allowing the trail arm to straighten to plane the club out makes it easier!
New job?
Was up in NY coaching for a couple of weeks! Awesome spot at Pine Hollow Club!
Can someone explain to this guy that there's no such thing as a "three dimensional plane." If a plane has 3 dimensions it's no longer a plane. This is the biggest load of shite I've ever heard. He's literally making shit up that doesn't even make sense, demonstrating shit no one ever does, demonstrating how something doesn't work while standing vertically, etc. Ask yourself, "Did you actually learn anything at all from this video?" NO!
I respect that everyone has there own opinion and views on the way the works. Maybe we can call it an inclined plane if that works better for you. I am more than happy to discuss this and your issues that you have with the way I explain things over the phone. Here is link you can setup a call if you’d like to say this to face to face and explain how you see that things work. I am a bigger believer in educating people vs straight hatred. If you’d like educate and explain things you’re way here is a link to talk: calendly.com/trevorsalzmangolf/free-15-minute-consultation
Sorry, ahem, “your*” I’m a bit of a spelling nazi
"Did you actually learn anything at all from this video?" --> Yes I did learn something from this video ...
@@goldengate8287 Without watching the video again, explain what you learned and how you'll use it.
Hi Trevor, another excellent explanation, the feeling for me is to bring the body in the right position to the point where I straighten my leading leg, brace against it - that's the moment where the body slows and arms/hands accelerate.
Not a bad explanation of how things work here! Appreciate the feedback and comment here! 🙏🙏🙏
Best hat in golf. Nothing ever comes close.
Haha! Love it! Thanks for the comment!
Very good lesson, Trevor. I was waiting for you to mention right side bend, and you did. I concur with all you say. Thanks
Thank you much! Greatly appreciate it! 👊👊👊
Why not keep the club on the plane during the back swing? Are there downsides (such as swing speed, etc.) if you attempt to do this?
You can absolutely do that!!! My real check point most all golf swings is that is roughly on the same plane from P5-P9 (when the shaft matches up here on both sides of the arc it is generally a very neutral swing direction). Thanks, TS
Another great video, thanks!
🙏🙏🙏
Spot on, and I reckon the gears system has shown exactly what you've prescribed here. The "re-centering" i.e. pressure forward and a straightening of the right arm, obviously while the pivot is happening, is what the best players in the world do. The manual contortions required in order to force it to happen is a rabbit hole I spent a year in... Not a pretty look and almost impossible to do at speed
I agree completely with you! It isn’t that that model doesn’t work for some because it does! I don’t think it’s a great model for the majority of us who play golf! Thanks for sharing!!!

This is me. What's a good drill to counter this?
One of my favorites is the strike drill (trail foot back and leg straight). Learn internally rotate the femur / hip and feel the trail knee stays behind the lead knee. Very good starting point
Solid advice
Greatly appreciate it! I hope this helps!
Love this
Thank you much!!!! 🙏🙏🙏
How do know thats anatomically correct.. Do you have a kinesiology degree?
I’ve read a medical book or two. I’d recommend starting with the Spinal Engine by Gracovetsky. Had a large influence on how I coach and explain things. Happy to chat with you if you’d like. I’m not saying this will cure early extension but it is a way to can help to minimize it by setting up and presenting the spine differently. calendly.com/trevorsalzmangolf/free-15-minute-consultation
Man... loved the three part series! Every instructor uses a different philosophy to explain the "why" for the causes of swing faults. Yours definitely resonates with me. I'm going to be looking forward to scheduling some online lessons for sure!
Thanks so much for the kind words and I greatly appreciate the feedback here! Glad it all resonates with you! Lookin forward to working with you and let me know if you need anything or have any questions!
Love this feel let's discuss during tomorrows lesson
You got it! Lookin forward to it!!!
Capital A-mazing!!!👏👏👏
Appreciate it!! Thank you much! 🙏🙏🙏
The pro I see this in the most is Xander Schauffele. Not the biggest guy and pounds it with the big boys. His dad was an olympic level decathlon athlete who knew a thing or two about throwing mechanics which he passed on to his son.
Can surely see a lot of this in Xander! Great move he has! Thanks for the comment!
Great lesson
Thank you!!! 🙏🙏🙏
Great video, thanks for sharing!!!
Greatly appreciate it!
Great lesson
Thank you!
Great lesson

I love your videos about the aspects of the golf swing. My specific problem appears to be my club head position out races the club hand position at or near impact. Thus I tend to hit fat (on most occasions) and occasionally thin the ball. I rarely, if ever, hit the ball off line. I have recently been practicing hitting my irons off a tee and have notice more success hitting the sweet spot on my irons. Do you have a video specifically about getting your hands ahead of the club head at impact.
Thanks so much for this! It sounds like a low point issue being too far back at impact. Now there are a lot of ways and reasons that low point can be back. I always start with setup and I’d make sure you don’t have pressure back and make sure you aren’t to bent over at address. I’ll attach a video here on how to control low point better as well below: Understanding Trail Side Dynamics for Perfect Low Point Control ruclips.net/video/i20llD4vRl0/видео.html Thanks again the comment and feedback! TS
I really look forward to your videos. You not only explain the “how” but the “why” which really speaks to me when I learn. Things really click for me bc you incorporate the anatomical positions of the body throughout the golf swing. Most people say to stay off of RUclips when you’re learning to play golf but your videos are definitely the exception.
Thanks so much for this! Means a lot! I truly think the only thing we can do as teachers on RUclips is explain cause and effect. We can t fix anyone with a RUclips video nor should we try. All we can do is educate why things happens and the potential causes of them. Thanks again! 🙏🙏

just subscribed, thank you! The combo of forearm rotation and ulnar deviation is a great piece of info, makes me thing more ulnar for the short clubs (more vertical) less for the driver while keeping same forearm rotation from P6, would that be good thought?
Thanks so much! Greatly appreciate it! I’d agree with you on this for sure! Let me know if you need anything or ever have any questions!
Thank you very much!
Super helpful explanation of impact position. Would I be correct in stating that at impact, the lead leg isn’t fully extended, but that it extends fully just after impact?
That is correct! Start with the leg bent and it will extend through / after impact! Thanks for the comment!
